2025 March Meeting Recap

2025 March Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our March meeting! To those who could not attend, you were missed! Here is a recap of what was discussed.

Brown's Harvest Reminds us that "Windsor is Farming"
Alex Connor, a seventh-generation member of the Brown family, gave a fantastic presentation about the rich farming history of this legacy farm in Windsor. From shade tobacco to hayrides, strawberries, and sunflowers, if you've been in Windsor for more than a few years, Brown's has likely been part of those memories. If not, or if you’re new to town, consider checking out their farmstand or their spring, summer, and fall events. Help us all keep our farming traditions a part of Windsor! Asparagus season is right around the corner!
This presentation was filmed for Win-TV, we will share where you can watch it soon.

Help Kick Off The Summer of 10,000 Flowers in Windsor
Enita Jubrey, Assistant to the Town Manager also joined our meeting and shared information about the Summer of 10,000 Flowers, an initiative being put on by the Windsor 2035: Plan of Conservation and Development. The Windsor Garden Club is being asked to support the Summer of 10,000 Flowers by planting sunflowers this season and documenting with photos you can share to the town's social media. The idea is that our sunflowers will grow as the town's plans develop over the coming months. Sunflower seeds were distributed at the meeting and more will be available in April.
