The Windsor Garden Club hosts a biennial  Tour of resident gardens in Windsor, CT. Our next tour will be held on June 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We are still looking for a few host gardens to participate and we would love to have you if you feel proud of your garden and want to show it off.

Here is what being a WGC Garden Club host entails:

  • Proud of your garden – it can be any style – in fact we love to host a variety of styles from a variety of hobby gardeners. This can include annuals, perennials, beautiful landscaping, or vegetables – or all of the above! It can also be anywhere in Windsor.
  • Prepare your garden for company! You will want your garden to be fit for guests as our tour typically sells up to 200 tickets. (Those 200 people will trickle in over six hours).
  • You will open your outdoor property to guests on June 28, 2025. This means that our ticket purchasers will have the opportunity to explore your yard during open hours, and we would want you to be there to answer questions about your garden and to receive the praise for your hard work.
You will have the option to again open your garden to an exclusive host tour so you and the other hosts can share each other’s gardens. This is typically the day after the tour but the date is TBD.

Those are the only requirements – but we would guess you have questions! Here are a few commonly asked questions from hosts.

  1. Will I have help preparing and on the day of the tour?
Yes. On the day of the tour, you will always have two volunteers (members of the WGC) at your home to help guide guests at your property and assist you in any way that you need.
If you need assistance getting ready for the tour – you can request that help from the club. We are expert weeders, mulchers, edgers, planters and advice givers!

  2. Do I have to let people inside my house?
No – in fact, we would suggest you don’t. The volunteer greeters would be the only ones we would suggest allowing in for a restroom, should they need it.

  3. Do I need to provide refreshments to guests?
No. It is not a requirement to provide anything to guests. We have had hosts provide water or snacks, but that is completely up to you.

  4. Will I get to see the other gardens on the tour? What if I want to attend also?
Yes. That is what the host tour is for. We plan a separate tour just for hosts, so they can also admire each other’s gardens. It’s optional to participate.

  5. How much do the tickets cost? Can my friends and families attend? Where does the money raised go?
Tickets for the event will cost $20 in advance and $25 the day of. We certainly will encourage you to share our fundraiser with your friends and families so they can purchase tickets and attend.
All our funds go towards the Windsor Garden Club community projects and Scholarship Program. Check out the rest of our website to see how we contribute to the Windsor community.

  6. Do I get anything for participating?
Yes! You will receive a gift for your participation. We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it will be something commemorative that you can place in your garden for years to come.
Additionally, you get a free membership to the Windsor Garden Club for the 2025 year. Our membership includes speakers, exclusive discounts, special events and the opportunity to engage with member and the community all in the name of gardening!

Do you have other questions or are you all in and want to participate? Either way, please email us at website@windsorgardengardenclubct.org.

Spaces do go quickly and it is first come first serve, so if you are interested, reach out quickly. Those who do not make 2025 will be placed on a waiting list for the 2027 tour.

Our Tour in 2023
Our most recent tour featured eight gardens locations and was held on July 15, 2023. It was a hot summer day, but we persisted and had nearly 200 attendees.

Themed, "Windsor Gardens - Rhythm & Soul," the 2023 tour  followed the rhythm down the garden path as we care for our planet and community and nourish our minds, bodies and souls through our love of gardening, plants and nature.

It was a unique year for us in that we are featured both beautiful, traditional gardens and showcased gardens that reflect themes of sustainability and community. If you attended, we certainly hope you learned something new from our tour hosts, who are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about caring for planet Earth, one patch of land at a time.

Thank you to our garden tour hosts and everyone who supported this event through ticket purchases, volunteering or ticket sales.

Special thanks to The Blue Dragonfly gift shop, Jordan Florist, and Woodland Gardens for supporting our ticket sales.
